Time of the Superhero

Superhero Movies of 2016

No matter if you’re a fan of Marvel or DC, one thing you can count on this year and possibly for the next 4 or 5 years, is a deluge of superhero movies. This year in particular, has fanboys’ fingers poised over their keyboards ready to critique, and Hollywood big shots counting their dollars.

Any comic hero or villain is fair game for Hollywood these days and even previous franchises like The Dark Knight trilogy or any number of the Spider Man or Superman movies are getting a reboot whether fans want one or not.

It would appear that the big block buster action heros of the past, the Vin Diesels and Jason Stathams have been replaced by a new kind of hero and nearly all of them wear tights!

Deadpool-February 12 2016
Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice – March 25 2016
Captain America: Civil War – May 6 2016
X-Men: Apocalypse – May 27 2016
Suicide Squad – August 5 2016
Dr. Strange – November 4 2016
Sinister Six – November 11 2016

There is another worth mentioning.   The X-Men Origins spin-off Gambit, is slated to have Channing Tatum reprise his role as the Cajun mutant from Apocalypse, and the release date is supposed to be October 7 2016. However, there are rumors going around that he may be walking away from the role, so if it is to be recast, well then your guess is as good as mine as to when it will be released.

Seems like it’s going to be a very entertaining and lucrative year! Can’t wait to see for myself.
