Movie Review
Have you guys seen this?! Wow! Yes I realize it’s a bit older and there is a sequel on the way…
but I had no inclination to see John Wick. I didn’t really know what it was about and I guess it just got away from me. Until the other night. At a loose end (Read: My toddler finally went to sleep, and I mustered what little energy I had left to turn on Netflix), Hubby and I settled in to watch.

My Thoughts…
I wish I had seen John Wick when it was released because it’s awesome! But…At least I don’t have to wait as long as everyone else for the sequel.
Sometimes, I kick myself for guaranteeing spoiler-free reviews because I really just want to blab about the movie’s virtues. Alas, that wouldn’t be fair. So I will tiptoe through this review because I respect a viewer’s right to form their own opinions.
What I will say, is that this movie possessed some of the most beautiful choreography I have ever seen. Not since the The Matrix have I seen Keanu Reeves move through a film like this. I dare say, John Wick is his best film since his hugely successful Matrix franchise. And, he probably only has 10 minutes of dialogue in the entire movie. It’s his movements. I have never appreciated a hitman more.
The story-line is not very original but it was executed well. The rest of the cast, particularly the hotel manager (you’ll have to see for yourself) added levity, and suspense when needed. No surprisingly, Willem Dafoe is fabulous as usual.
John Wick is truly an excellent action flick–Dark, suspenseful and very violent. I can’t wait for the next one.
Rating…A

It took me awhile to see it too! I thought it sounded dumb and was just a lot of hype. But it’s so good. The second one is pretty good, but hard to top the first one.

That’s exactly what I thought and then I was bored and flicking through Netflix and watched it because there wasn’t anything else. How wrong I was lol.

I loved this movie. It is truly exceptional movie because it lacks a solid plot or even dialogue and still manages to enthrall. I mean Reeves and the director …just brilliant!

Hahahah I watched this recently as well! The choreo was soooooo on point, it was truly beautiful to watch him slide, and twirl and flip around. His insane headshot precision was also mind-blowingly beautiful! 😀 When I first saw the trailer, I was truly skeptical and really dropped the idea of watching this movie in theaters. I mean… going on a rampage for a dog…. But wow! Once you watch the movie, there’s just NO regrets! 😛 Can’t wait for the 2nd!
