Movie Review

I can’t even tell you how excited my whole family was to see this movie!

The anticipation was killing us! And like all movies that my almost 3-yr-old sees with me, I always let her review the movie before me. Her review: “It was the best! AMAZING!” She then proceeded to say in a gravelly voice (well as gravelly as a baby girl can), “I’m Batman.”

My Thoughts…

What a blast! As my daughter so succinctly put it, it was “amazing.” Funny, exciting, tons of action, and it was all done with LEGO! I am always so awestruck by animated movies that are done a little differently. Claymation a la Nightmare Before Christmas, being the most impressive to me. I have to say, these LEGO productions are spectacular. I remember the very first animated LEGO production I saw. It was that White Stripes video, “Fell in Love with a Girl” and it was frikin awesome!

Anyway, back to the movie. Will Arnett is great as Batman and it was very cool to watch all of the classic Batman characters (villains included) come to life on-screen as LEGO creations. Harley was adorable, Joker was hilarious and there are several cameos to watch for. Even the soundtrack is on point.

I don’t really have any complaints. It’s a wonderful family movie with plenty of jokes for the parents. We all loved it and I highly recommend you get yourself to your local theater this weekend because it needs to be seen on the big screen. Enjoy!
