Need Your Feedback!

Hey guys! I’m thinking about launching my own book touring company and would love some feedback from all of you bloggers and authors out there.

For Bloggers:

Most of us participate in blog tours and other book promotions, so you know how it works. How many of you would be interested in signing up as tour hosts for me in the near future?

For Authors:

How many of you would like if Reads & Reels offered book touring packages, at reasonable rates? Would you seriously consider hiring Reads & Reels to do blog tours, book blitzes, and cover reveals etc…?

On paper, I have the numbers to launch this venture but I’m in the research stage. I would love to hear from you guys. What do you think?

I admire you for your ambition regarding a blog tour company and wish you every success.
As for myself, a busy bookblogger with an overlong TBR, I am partaking in blog tours LESS and LESS. I do not like the time constraints/deadlines that are an inherent part of blog tours. It makes me shuffle my reviewing queue in order to accommodate the tour – which is unfair to the other authors/publishers with whom I’ve made a commitment to review.

    1. Thanks so much! I agree with you and as a blogger I totally understand that. Is it terrible to say that I do the opposite? I choose dates around my schedule to fill in the blanks on my calendar. πŸ™„

I think these companies are crucial for indie authors and I would like to provide an option for more fringe genres, or at least not contemporary romance. There are so many companies that are all about romance and not horror or sci-fi. Also I happen to enjoy those genres more πŸ˜‰

  2. Yes and yes on both!! I’d love to join in as a review stop on blog tours.. AND with my own upcoming release I’d bsolutely love to see what kind of packages you’d offer… I’m only a couple months out from the prerelease marketing phase and I’ve never taken this step before. To be honest I don’t even know where to start. I’m fairly new in to the wordpress world, so in a little nervous about conducting the whole process… my email address is if you want to throw my on your contact list πŸ™‚

    1. Sounds fantastic Didi! With all of the feedback I’m getting, I’m thinking offering some services asap may be interested order. Like a soft opening before I launch my whole new site. Let me think of it now I will be in touch. Thanks again ☺

  4. Yes, I’d be interested in being a tour host for you. Like others, I like to stick to my preferred genres – historical fiction, literary fiction, mystery/thriller/crime – and can’t always commit to doing reviews but happy to do Q&As, extracts or guest posts. I always appreciate it if tour organisers send out media kit, etc well in advance of tour dates. I’m sure I’m not the only one who likes (needs!) to schedule posts ahead of time. I think you should go for it. I’m sure having taken part in tours will have given you a great insight into what makes a good tour from the point of view of both authors and bloggers.

  5. I’m happy to sign up as a host, the way I run my blog is i keep i diary and I don’t do more than one tour a week with a review to ensure i can meet the deadlines with reading. I will take on more tours with content though to a point, i like to make sure the content that goes up each day isn’t too diluted. I’m also pretty strict on sticking to the genres I prefer aswell. I’m sure that’s pretty similar to other bloggers.

  6. Beware Of The Reader

Would love hosting if the books and authors fits in my genre. I would not accept everything or I would be overwhelmed but you can count me in! My favorite genres: Romance, Teen/YA, Fantasy/PNR/Dystopian in a nutshell.

    1. Oh those will be included for sure. I don’t think it will be a niche genre type thing. If it were it would probably be anything other than contemporary romance. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but I think authors of horror, fantasy, scifi and thriller deserve a place too. That’s what I enjoy personally and many of the top notch online promoters feature mainly romance
