Book Review
Thankfully, I received my copy of Skitter from Netgalley really quickly as The Hatching left me in somewhat of a tizzy.
Remember my review of The Hatching? It was awesome but painfully, ridiculously short! I was left frantic and unsatisfied because Skitter isn’t available everywhere and I thought Netgalley would make me wait longer. Well, I got it almost immediately (Amazing) and it was soooooo good!

My Thoughts…
I’m going to keep this short and sweet! As much as I was looking forward to reading this, I was also wary because certain people.. Ahem… Drew (The Tattoed Book Geek) have been telling (teasing) me that it was just as short as book #1 and had an even more frustrating cliffhanger. It wasn’t as short, but it is so face-paced that it feels over way too soon. Though the end does leave you hanging, I still felt satisfied. Yes, I’m anxious for the next one but the ending made sense and suited the style of the series.
Skitter is a fantastic book! I love how it doesn’t fit the mold of your run-of-the-mill, viral plague book. And I’m sure I’ve mentioned I like my creature features and Skitter gets bonus points for meeting the criteria but not being cheesy. Not an easy task.
The writing is sharp, and exciting and the story continues to terrify. I’m really looking forward to The Hatching #3!

Ah, I thought it was just as short, my apologies, it is over far too quickly though and the cliff hangar definitely leaves you wanting more……and to know what goes ‘thump’ on the step near the end!!!!
Such a fun series though, can’t wait for the third book, hopefully, it’ll be out next year so only a year to wait! 😦

No you’re right, it was shorter than most but not as bad as the first. There are so many spider gifs to choose from lol! I like the one used in my Hatching review. Homer covered in spiders.
I agree, this cover is so much nicer. The other ones look very meh.

Yeah, it’s definitely shorter than most, both together are about the combined length of most fantasy books, it doesn’t help that the damn pages fly by though as it’s such a fun and engrossing read! 🙂
