Book Tag
I came across this tag on Sydney’s Shelves and had to do it! I figured it would help tide me over till I see the movie. This tag was originally created by G-Swizzel Books.
Star Lord – An Unlikely Hero
I’m going to go with Magnus Bane from The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. On the surface he seems like this selfish, materialistic half-demon, but he always ends up helping the Shadowhunters and saving lives. It could possibly be because he loves Alec, but I think it’s because he has a heart of gold.
Gamora – A Lethal Weapon of a Character
Scarlet Lock from The Eternal Darkness series by J.F. Johns. Scarlet was designed as the ultimate killing machine. Neither human nor cyborg and stronger than both! Such an amazing character.
Drax the Destroyer – An Unpredictable Character
I just finished reading this awesome adventure thriller called Seven Deadly Wonders by Matthew Reilly. The main dude is called Jack West Jr and he is this Indiana Jones/ Super-Soldier type who literally makes life or death decisions on the fly.
Rocket Racoon – A Character with Killer Strategies
I’m going to have to go with “Seven Deadly Wonders” again (it’s so good). This time the character is a wizened treasure hunting scholar called Max Epper. He is brilliant, tough and no matter what the situation calls for, he is the man with the plan.
Groot – A Bad Ass Character with a Big Heart
I’m going to go old-school here and say Gimli from The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Why? Because its Gimli!
Mantis – A Friendly and Powerful Side Character
I read and reviewed The Auctor Trilogy not too long ago and the main character develops a friendship with Tempe, A powerful sorceress-in-training. She is not only strong, but unfailingly positive and generally just a good person to be around. (See review)
Nebula – A Character That Puts Their Mission Before Their Family
Hmm this is a tricky one. In Grond: The Raven High, the protagonist was a highly evolved super-human who spent her time with an android and an alien commander whom she called “Uncle”. It was ingrained into her DNA that “The Mission” came first above all things. It wasn’t the best book but it’s the only example my coffee deprived brain can think of right now.
Yondu – The Annoying Character That You Cannot Help But Love
I don’t know if I would go as far as to call her annoying but Becky Bloomwood from The Shopaholic Series. She does the most frustrating things over and over again and never seems to learn but we love her because she is warm and funny. Besides, if she didn’t do all that stupid stuff we wouldn’t have such a hilarious book series.
This was a tough one guys! I think my problem is that I’ve read so many books, everything gets jumbled in my memory lol.
This was very cool. Definitely agree on the Magnus/Star Lord parallel. 🙂
