Ha! That’s a bit misleading because I #AMREADING at least 3 books right now. This one is standing out for me though.
I don’t typically like to start another book before I’ve finished one, but I find this happens to me now that my blog has grown. I’m not complaining, just that it seems to be necessary if I want to put a dent in my ever-growing TBR mountain. That said, there will always be at least one book that stands apart from the others, and this time it’s this one.
The Silence by Tim Lebbon (Release Date: April 2015)
In the darkness of a vast cave system, cut off from the world for millennia, blind creatures hunt by sound. Then there is light, there are voices, and they feed… Swarming from their prison, they multiply and thrive. To scream, even to whisper, is to summon death.
Deaf for many years, Ally knows how to live in silence. Now, it is her family’s only chance of survival. To leave their home, to shun others, to find a remote haven where they can sit out the plague. But will it ever end? And what kind of world will be left?
“A Classic” says Jonathan Mayberry, author of such books as Rot and Ruin and Patient Zero…
Both are awesome series! So, I figure this has got to be good if its got an endorsement from a horror/ thriller author of Mayberry’s calibre.
I’m about a 1/3 of the way through and so far it’s pretty cool! I love “Creature Features” and there are some gnarly creatures in this.
In addition to these primordial creatures, there are also meaningful sub-plots involving rich and deeply layered characters. Translation: There is a lot more going on than just the disaster element of the story.
Anyway, I’m enjoying it and it makes for a great read during the month of October, otherwise known as the “Best Month of the Year”.
Let me know if you’ve read it. I’d love to hear your opinion!

Sounds like my kind of book! I’m definitely adding it to my ‘want to read’ list on Goodreads!
I’m currently reading a fantasy fiction novel called ‘Dragma’s Keep’ by Vance Pumphrey in exchange for an honest review.
Very good read so far, set in the D&D universe; I’m about 20% through it and I’ve found it thoroughly enjoyable 😊

It’s excellent but the ending is a bit of a cliffhanger with no plans for a sequel. That was a bit frustrating for me. There will also be a movie, according to the author’s site.
You know it’s so funny, I really like that particular genre if it’s a movie or TV series but I’ve never been able to get into that kind of fantasy reading wise.

Luna’s right–that sounds like an awesome October read. Mine are much less appropriate, I’m afraid. I’m reading Twilight Company, one of the Star Wars books, because I’m a pretty big Star Wars nerd. I’m also reading a book called Unravelled, at my wife’s request. I’m not very far into it yet, but it’s not half bad.

That’s okay! We’re all Star Wars nerds over here! Speaking of reading more than one book at a time, I just finished another of Candace’s (Robinson) books. Really good but not a creepy read lol

Great choice for this month indeed! I haven’t read it but it definitely sounds like a good book to read in the evenings. Currently, I’m reading The Boleyn Inheritance which is another of my historical fiction books. Just like the White Queen it’s a compilation of 3 stories told from Jane , Anne of Cleeves and Katherine Howard. It’s interesting but I’m only 50 pages in so far.
