Movie Poster Showdown: Trolls #AnnaKendrick #Monday #WeeklyRecap #Meme

“Get back up again…”

Hey there! Well, I guess I should start by apologizing for posting my Friday recap two days late on a Monday. Sorry guys, some real life adulting stuff got in the way. Even as I’m typing this, things are manic but this is my safe place so I have to make time for it.

Friday, I had started writing this and I had chosen Trolls as my movie because it’s one of my daughter’s favourite movies. Her surgery is fast approaching and of course we are all stressed out, and nervous AF. November 29th is the big day and I am both wanting the day to hurry up and get here, and not wanting it to ever come at all.

As if there isn’t enough going on in our lives, what with her surgery and our wedding, we’ve also decided to sell our gorgeous downtown home and move out of my beloved city. We had hoped that we could downsize and raise her and ourselves in a hip, urban, and progressive neighbourhood. But the reality is, little kids don’t want progressive schools or Starbucks’ on every corner. They want backyards and tree houses (mine still wants her Starbucks too). Also, Mr. Shanannigans has been commuting to our soon to be home city for 4 long years and he’s tired. So very tired. I don’t blame him, and I can work anywhere there’s wifi, so in order to give our family more space to stretch out and more time together, we are making the big move to suburbia. Ugh SUBURBIA! It’s like a dirty word to our liberal ears but alas, it must be done.

Appropriately enough, with all of these changes and huge events happening in our lives, Princess Poppy’s, AKA Anna Kendrick’s song “Get Back Up Again” is proving to be our family’s anthem.

Needless to say, I haven’t had a whole lot of time for blogging but I have been reading and I’m still doing a lot of work for R&R, which is time-consuming but I love it.

I can’t promise a lot of action this week but I’ll still be blog hopping and checking in 🙂

This one’s for you Baby Doll!

This Week: Trolls (2016)

I wish there were more to choose from! Not a lot of fan art for this movie 😉 I love “A” with a very grumpy Branch but I think my favourite is….

The Winner:  “F”

Can’t beat a good Warhol reproduction!

Have a great week everyone!

    1. Thank you! It has been a crazy few weeks and of course we’ve been beyond stressed and nervous about her surgery. She did so well. Her surgery was at 8 am and she blew all the nurses a doctor’s away with how well she coped and how fast she was recovering, they sent us home after dinner instead of us staying the night. It’s been 3 days and she doing great. So relieved it’s over.

  1. My vote goes for D. I love the hair explosion in the background :). As to everything else, know your whole family is in my prayers – especially your little one. This is A LOT to have in your lap at once. Life can be annoying like that. But at the core of all of these events is your family and the love that bonds you is so clearly evident from how you write about them. In that sort of love any and all things are possible so, no matter how overwhelming and frustrating and scary it may seem moment to moment, I’m sure it will all be transformed into beauty and brilliance in the end. Because that’s what love does.

  2. I hope that the move and surgery both go much better than expected! Neither is a fun thing–not by any stretch. But hopefully, once they’re behind you and your family, it’ll prove nothing but worth it!
As for the posters…. goodness, I need to finish this movie. Saw the first amazing forty minutes or so, but then had to cut out on it. So fun and funny. For posters, the Warhol is of course great. I also really like both D and I… and G. Haha, too many good ones!
    Good luck with everything!

    1. Thanks so much! We’re definitely hating that our baby has to go through this but it will be such a relief when the appendix is gone and we don’t have to worry about it rupturing again.

You have to finish the movie already! Lol it is so good 😊

  3. I remember having a little troll toy as a kid and was absolutely frightened by the thing. Finding out that a movie was being made for it only brought back those horrible memories!! 😛 Hope that surgery goes perfectly fine and that your new home will be an exhilarating new adventure!

  4. I can’t comment on the trolls because I’m not familiar with them, lol. But as for moving to suburbia, I can comment on that since I moved from NYC (where I spent all of my life), to NC, where I’ve lived the past 14 years. I love it here. It’s beautiful and the pace suits us so much better. It’s an adjustment for those who love city living, but I think you’ll adapt. Especially when you see how happy the kiddos are. I hope the best for you. 😊
