Hey Guys!

Wow what a week I’ve had! First of all I want to apologize for being absent from the blog. Many of you know that my daughter had surgery scheduled last Wednesday. Surgery we have been waiting for since the end of June. I am happy to report that her appendectomy went smoothly (So much less invasive these days) and she bounced back so quickly, we were able to bring her home later that night! Crazy right?! She’s amazing!

Anyway, 5 days later she’s feeling much better (so are her parents) and aside from some new scars, it’s business as usual for her. We are beyond relieved.

3 Days After Surgery

As a parent, the fear you feel when your baby is sick or in trouble is unlike anything else. It’s primal! The moment these little people come into your life your entire perspective shifts. You fear only for yourself in as so much as it affects your kids. It’s all about them. You hope for the best for them and know logically they will be okay, but your brain will still go to the darkest places and something as routine as an appendectomy can feel like life or death. The relief we felt when she woke up in recovery… man, it felt like someone took a building off of my chest.

As you can see, she’s doing great, which means we can now focus on happy things like Christmas and Mexico in April. Who knows, maybe even a new house 🙂

The Blog

I have a million reviews drafted and ready to be finished, so hopefully I will be able to post more regularly now. Take it easy on me though, it’s still a crazy time of year and I am getting a late start (I haven’t even started my shopping yet.) Normally, I would have the house done, cards mailed, and presents at least waiting to be wrapped. YIKES!

Well, I’ve rambled long enough but before I go, I just wanted to thank you all for the well wishes and kind words over the last few weeks. So many of you amazing people took the time to check in on us this week and it just means the world to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
