Am I the only one who had not heard of this movie?
Well it seems to have been a bit of a box office dud but I actually liked it.

Eloise, having been relieved of maid of honor duties after being unceremoniously dumped by the best man via text, decides to attend the wedding anyway, only to find herself seated with five fellow unwanted guests at the dreaded Table 19.

My Thoughts…
“Mutants at table 9?” Ha did anyone get that reference? No? Well I’ll leave you to figure it out.
I discovered this movie on Netflix over Christmas and was a bit surprised. How had I not known it existed? Anna Kendrick is my favourite! I think the answers is that it came out with a whimper and then was unceremoniously dumped from theaters. Much like Anna’s character in this film.
Initially, I thought this was going to be a very funny movie because I think she’s hilarious. Boy was I wrong. It falls under drama, and romantic comedy but this flick is more drama than anything else. Maybe that’s why people were so disappointed. Once I adjusted my expectations, I actually liked it.
The cast is a motley crew of actors. Some we’ve heard of like Lisa Kudrow and others… not so much. Together however, they make a pretty good team. Anna is awesome as usual and the storyline, though not entirely original, was entertaining and thought-provoking. Also there are a few great twists I wasn’t expecting.
If you go into this knowing that you are watching a drama with some comedic scenes, I think many of you will like it. It’s really charming. Shame critics didn’t give it a chance.

Oh I thought this was going to be a comedy too! I’m not a fan of dramas but at least it has some humor in it…? And Kendrick is always so cool. I can’t wait to see this! 🙂

Whew…I’m so glad someone else enjoyed this one. I randomly came across it last year and decided to ignore all the negative reviews out there.

I really enjoyed it. I don’t “listen” to the reviews either but came across a few that had negative subject/titles. I like finding out for myself if I like something or not.

Euhm I hadn’t heard about this movie either and I’m also a little bit of an Anna Kendrick fangirl 😊. I think she’s perfect for movies with drama and a little romance so definitely want to see it later. I don’t have Netflix though so will have to wait a bit longer 😌
