Ah this cover! Is gorgeous the right word when the type font is “Bold Blood Smears”?

Sorry, I’m going to be a bit of a fan girl here and gush because I just love Ania Ahlborn and this novella is just another reason why. FYI, I got it for a steal! Just a $1.99!

The Pretty Ones (Release Date: July 2015)

New York, 1977. The sweltering height of the Summer of Sam. The entire city is gripped with fear, but all Nell Sullivan worries about is whether or not she’ll ever make a friend. The self-proclaimed “Plain Jane” does her best to fit in with the girls at work, but Nell’s brother, Barrett, assures her that she’ll never be like them. When Nell manages to finally garner some much-yearned-for attention, the unthinkable happens to her newfound friend. The office pool blames Son of Sam, but Nell knows the awful truth…because doing the devil’s work is easy when there’s already a serial killer on the loose.

If you’re a fan of the classic Hitchcock film Psycho, you will love this book!

At only 132 pages, this short but mighty story will literally give you goosebumps. From the first chapter the main character Nell just creeped me right out and yet she was so compelling, I could not put down my e-reader.

Not only that, it takes place during the time when prolific serial killer “The Son of Sam” was slaughtering pretty brunettes all over the place. A fitting and terrifying backdrop for this story.

Honestly guys if you’re a horror fan, or like creepy psycho-thrillers, you will LOVE this!

Rating… A

Only $1.88 on Amazon and $1.99 on Kobo
