My Thoughts…

People were vomiting and passing out in theaters? Really?

Guys, this one really isn’t as taboo as the media made it out to be. I was more confused after seeing it because if you knowingly went to see a cannibal horror movie and this one made you physically ill, what were you doing there in the first place? Honestly, I have seen far more disgusting cannibal movies than this. House of a 1000 Corpses anyone? Jeez, even Silence of the Lambs had more disturbing imagery.

If you have seen Ginger Snaps, then you’ll have an idea of what this movie is like. Yes it is a little edgy and yes, there are some disturbing scenes, but not as shocking or ‘puke-inducing’ as ‘they’ say. Actually, it’s kind of a creative take on your typical college coming-of-age type stuff and like the afore-mentioned ‘Ginger Snaps’, it’s unique and entertaining. And the one scene that had people rushed out in ambulances (apparently) really wasn’t all that bad. Gross yes, but I’ve seen far worse.

As far as being an artistic horror film, I think the creator did a fantastic job, and though this movie is definitely not for everyone, I think horror fans will enjoy it. Especially the little twist at the end.

It’s on Netflix now so if you’re curious about all the fuss like I was, watch it… If you dare lol!

Rating… B
