Movie Review
I’m so late reviewing the big ones these days! Finally, Thor: Ragnarok.
Thor: Ragnarok (Release Date: November 2017)
Thor is imprisoned on the planet Sakaar, and must race against time to return to Asgard and stop Ragnarök, the destruction of his world, which is at the hands of the powerful and ruthless villain Hela.
Stars: Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, and Cate Blanchett
Director: Taika Waititi
Rating/ Runtime: PG-13/ 2 hrs 10
My Thoughts…
This one is very different from the Avenger movies or even the first Thor. It’s kind of quirky, funny and sort of has an 80’s sci-fi vibe. More like Guardian of the Galaxies and I think it worked.
If you know anything about the comics, Thor is supposed to be a funny sort of character but there were a lot of fans who didn’t appreciate how much humor was added to this installment. Personally, I liked it quite a bit. I loved the back and forth between characters and that Thor was a smart-ass. It was nice change from Tony Stark being the resident smart-ass.
As I mentioned, this movie had a very campy feel to it, especially Jeff Goldblume’s role lol but I enjoyed it. Sure it was a bit cheesy at times but it’s a superhero movie and that comes with the package (my humble opinion). Anyway this will tie in nicely with Infinity War and I really look forward to Thor and Star Lord coming together.
I wasn’t in a hurry to watch this one but it was entertaining and a solid film.
Rating…. B
I loved this movie, from the visuals, music and humour, making it in my top 3 marvel movies.

I took me a long time but I finally watched it today. Like you said the movie has a lot of humour and I laughed a lot and the action is cool but I’m disappointed with their research. Hel the misterious sister of Thor was actually a daughter of Loki and everyone knew about her. Same as Fenrir son of Loki the wolf who eaten the sun and the moon and was feared by all gods also one who killed Odin was just a big dog who only managed to bite hulk

I loved this movie, it was great seeing Australian and Kiwi humour translated to the big screen…it was one of the stand out movies for me last year.

This movie reminded me a bit of Deadpool–it made me laugh a lot. Chris Hemsworth is quite a charismatic actor. I mean, the dude can act. Have you seen him in RUSH?

No I haven’t seen that. I do like him though. Perhaps I should see it.

It’s fun. I watched it again with hubby and he enjoyed it and he had no interest in it before.
