Hello my friends!
I know I have really been out of touch lately but this Spring/ Summer, the whole past year really, has kicked my ass! Lots of good stuff but lots of not so good stuff either. I’m not going to dwell on the negative because the good far outweighs the bad, but it’s why I haven’t been blogging as much as I would like.
The biggest thing that has taken 97.5% of all my attention as of late, has been renovating our supposed “turn-key” house that we bought in April. We chose our house specifically because we DID NOT want a fixer-upper. Well, as most of us have learned watching HGTV is that a newly renovated (flipped) house will come with all sorts of hidden surprises. It has been a LONG summer but Mike Holmes would now give our house his approval. Ugg, I get tired just thinking about it lol.
While living in a construction zone hasn’t been ideal, our family has survived and can hopefully get on with the living in it part.
What else has been going on? Well, my little company R&R Book Tours had its first birthday and I’m delighted to report that it has come a long way. Thanks to so many wonderful authors and bloggers, I have been able to make my dream a reality. R&R has grown so much in the last year and while it has been AMAZING, I have also realized it’s time to make some changes.
It comes at the perfect time too since my baby girl is starting Junior Kindergarten next Tuesday (WAHHHHHHHHHHHH) and I can now devote full-time hours to both my blog and my business.
Some of the changes are cosmetic and logistical. For example, instead of having two websites, I am going to merge them. Let’s be honest, R&R is a division of Reads & Reels anyway. I’m also going to add some new services to the menu, the biggest being…
I’ve launched a Patreon page!!!
4 tiers of exclusive monthly services for authors! This is something I have been deliberating on for months and I’m finally ready to pull the trigger. One of the main reasons behind it is so I can keep offering my book promo services like blog tours, at a competitive rate. Keeping costs down for self-published and indie authors is crucial to me and I’m hoping this will be a good change for everyone! Change is good right and growth is even better.
I will also be dedicating more time to my blog. I am actually way ahead on my reading, just haven’t had the time to write. I know, I know, I’m working on it!
So that’s what’s going on with me. I hope you all have had a wonderful summer and for those of you who have little ones starting school for the first time, I feel your pain.
Have a great long weekend!
