Fall Book Tag! #Blogtober #Fall #Reading #BookBlogger

Good morning my book loving friends!

It’s fall, my absolute favourite time of year, and despite the unnaturally high temperature we’re expecting today, the leaves are still changing and I love it!

It’s been oh I don’t know, a million years since I’ve done a book tag, so I figured this one would be good for Blogtober.

1. In fall, the air is crisp and clear: Name a book with a vivid setting!

It’s not just one story but a collection. Recently I finished reading Deadsteam: A Chilling Collection of Dreadpunk Tales of the Dark and Supernatural. If you’re unsure what Dreadpunk is, it’s very similar to Steampunk. Each story takes place in the Industrial Age. The stories are so vivid, you can smell the coal burning, and see the eerie gas light through the fog.

2. Nature is beautiful… but also dying: Name a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief

Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow, isn’t specifically about the loss of one person, but about the loss of multiple pieces of the MC self. It’s a very powerful story about survival and self-discovery. I gave it 6 out of 5 stars.

3. Fall is back to school season: Share a non-fiction book that taught you something new.

Ummm, I can’t answer this one because I don’t read non-fiction. Unless you count my little one’s Magic School Bus book about the 5 senses lol. We read that together over the weekend.

4. Fall is a good to spend some time with the people we love: Name a fictional family/household/friend-group that you’d like to be a part of.

This isn’t very original I know, but I’m going to have to agree with Misty, and say The Weasleys. Their home looks like loads of fun, especially at this time of year.

The colorful leaves are piling up on the ground: Show us a pile of fall-colored spines!

Yeah, I can’t take credit for this because as much I would want this in my house, my books are still in boxes from moving but I can dream right?

6. Fall is the perfect time for some storytelling by the fireside: Share a book wherein somebody is telling a story.

Ooh this is an easy one! There are so many good ones but I recently read The Proposal by S.E. Lynes. This one will curl your toes!

7. The nights are getting darker: Share a dark, creepy read.

Ah, this is an easy one too because that’s all I’m reading these days. Today I’ll go with something I just read recently. Stalking Jack the Ripper, by Kerri Maniscalco. This one is all atmosphere folks, and you don’t get much darker than ‘Jack the Ripper’

8. The days are getting colder: Name a short, heartwarming read that could warm up somebody’s cold and rainy day.

Ha ha, this one is tricky because I’m not reading happy books at the moment. The most recent one though would have to be, Always and Forever, Lara Jean (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before #3) by Jenny Han. It doesn’t get more warm and fuzzy than these books.

9. Fall (luckily, it’s my favorite season) returns every year: Name an old favorite that you’d like to return to soon.

Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. I try to read this one every couple of years, and I’m due. Plus, you don’t get more atmospheric than this old classic, perfect for this time of year.

10. Fall is the perfect time for cozy reading nights: Share your favorite cozy reading “accessories”!

All I need is a hot cup of coffee and a snuggly blanket!

Big shout out to Misty @ Misty’s Book Space for providing the questions, and for loving fall just as much as I do!

Feel free to do this tag guys, it’s a fun one!
