A chilly breeze had picked up and it whispered all around her. She was hardly aware of the frigid temperature penetrating her thin pajamas as she stared at Brendan’s form in the darkened cemetery. His shadowy outline was so stoic and somber that Mallory had to fight against her desire to walk in alongside the man and place a comforting arm around his shoulders.
My Thoughts…
I’m starting to detect a theme with Misty’s books and it’s not just her amazing skills as a storyteller. There is always something uniquely special about them. A twist to the genre that elevates her stories above others.
In this case, The Nanny Song is contemporary drama with hints of something unnatural, possibly paranormal, which keeps the reader guessing right until the end.
In addition to that certain “something”, this book is well-written with multi-faceted characters. Even the kids in ‘Mallory’s’ charge are compelling with their own secrets and intrigue.
I really enjoyed this book and if you’re looking for something a little different to go with your family drama, you will really like this one!
