Happy Halloween my Lovelies! Today, I saved something special for my last Blogtober post…

The last installment of Brent Jones’ serial thriller, Time’s Up, Afton!

Time’s Up, Afton (Release Date: October 29th, 2018)

Some secrets stay buried for a lifetime, but nothing lasts forever.

Connected to a number of high-profile deaths, Afton finds herself not only under scrutiny from the chief of police, but damned in the court of public opinion, as well.

In the aftermath of the fiery assault on Wakefield, a low-level gang has infiltrated the town, flooding its streets with bad drugs, killing several teenagers. As Afton prepares for the final showdown with her tormentor, she marks each gang member as a target for elimination, in a methodical plan to gain the upper hand. What follows is a race against the clock that will keep readers guessing until the very last page, as Afton risks life and limb to fulfill her murderous mission of doing good in the world.

Time’s Up, Afton is the fourth and final part in a new serial thriller by author Brent Jones. Packed with grit and action, The Afton Morrison Series delves into a world of moral ambiguity, delivering audiences an unlikely heroine in the form of a disturbed vigilante murderess.

My Thoughts…

After dealing with her twin, Afton takes on a new form of evil in the guise of disgusting drug dealing lowlifes. It is in this last chapter of her story, where Afton really sakes her blood lust and proves what she’s capable of. Fortunately, her victims deserve it!

I really enjoyed the last installment of this intense series. It’s very different from the others, almost a new story entirely. Sort of like a “What are they up to now?” kind of thing. That said, there is still one crucial bit of unfinished business that Afton finally takes care of, and once she does, there is a doozy of a twist! I wasn’t sure there were many shocks left but man was I wrong, as the final revelation knocked me sideways!

Brent’s unique style and skill continues in the final chapter, and there is still more to learn about Afton. More thrills, secrets, and violence!

I loved the whole series and I’m very happy with how it all came together at the end. I highly recommend it, and now those of you who want to step into Afton’s dark and dangerous world, can read it all together along with a bonus story in the newly published collection.

    Hi Shannon,

As always, thank you for a beautiful review.

Yes, I thought the same thing, even though very few people have mentioned it so far in their reviews. Book four almost could’ve been its own standalone novel. It did, in some ways, feel like a departure from the first three parts of the story. Yes, there was unfinished business to wrap up with the Moss family, and we needed a conclusion to the end of book three, but in many ways, a time jump (albeit a brief time jump) was needed to show the aftermath of books one, two, and three. And, of course, it’s possible that there may be more books to come in this series down the road. Who knows?

Thanks for reading, and thanks for supporting my work.

    1. Oh you’re welcome! I had meant to post it before release day but had the 31st in my mind for some reasom. Sorry about that. Yes it could have been a standalone or the start of a whole new saga for Afton. That’s exactly what I was thinking! I’m so looking forward to the collection and the bonus story! 🙂
