Book Review
Good morning fellow bookworms!
Today I have a review for the second book in a really cool series, called Council of Souls by Jen Printy, and it was really good! So good, I wished I had read book #1 first (facepalm), like Jen kindly recommended. Problem is, my TBR is drowning me so I forgot! Nevertheless, I got the gist and caught on quickly enough. – Confessions of a Bookworm
Council of Souls (Fated Eternals #2) Release Date: October 31st, 2017
After surviving the perils of an ancient family feud, Jack Hammond and Leah Winters believe only happiness lies ahead. However, their future isn’t as secure as they think. When Death and his council arrive to welcome Leah into their treacherous shadow world, the couple discovers that Leah’s immortality has come with a high price.
With Artagan’s help, Leah slowly learns how to navigate the dark waters of the Concilium Animarum—the Council of Souls. As their world starts to unravel further, their love is all Jack and Leah have left. Will that be enough?

My Thoughts…
It’s been a while since I have read an Urban Fantasy, or at least one this good. The whole concept behind this series is very interesting. That being, that there is a whole council of immortal beings who choose when it is time for a person to die. In fact, it’s not just “Death” who collects souls, but a family who is delegated roles.
Having missed out on book #1, My Soul Immortal, there is a ton of backstory I clearly needed, like how one of the key characters, and one half of the romance, becomes immortal, but I enjoyed this story despite not having all the details. Imagine how much better it would have been had I read it in order lol.
In terms of the technical stuff, the writing was fantastic, there was intense and sometime funny dialogue, extremely interesting characters, Artagan for one, and overall, a truly unique reading experience.
I am going to go back and read the first book now, and continue on with the series in order, and I’m really looking forward to it. If you want something a little meatier for your holiday reading, I highly recommend this one, and by one, I mean the series, preferably starting with book #1.
