Book Review
If you’re going to read one thriller this Summer it has to be Dear Wife by Kimberly Belle!
Dear Wife
Publication Date: June 25, 2019
Beth Murphy is on the run…
For nearly a year, Beth has been planning for this day. A day some people might call any other Wednesday, but Beth prefers to see it as her new beginning–one with a new look, new name and new city. Beth has given her plan significant thought, because one small slip and her violent husband will find her.
Sabine Hardison is missing…
A couple hundred miles away, Jeffrey returns home from a work trip to find his wife, Sabine, is missing. Wherever she is, she’s taken almost nothing with her. Her abandoned car is the only evidence the police have, and all signs point to foul play.
As the police search for leads, the case becomes more and more convoluted. Sabine’s carefully laid plans for her future indicate trouble at home, and a husband who would be better off with her gone. The detective on the case will stop at nothing to find out what happened and bring this missing woman home. Where is Sabine? And who is Beth? The only thing that’s certain is that someone is lying and the truth won’t stay buried for long.

My Thoughts…
Thank you HarperCollins Canada for inviting me to the upcoming Instagram Takeover! Otherwise, I may not have read this AMAZING book and that would have been a travesty!
Like every thriller I read, I try to figure things out before they’re revealed. Sometimes it’s difficult (rarely), sometimes it’s ridiculously easy (bad writing), and then sometimes one will completely catch me off guard. Dear Wife is the first book this year that has thrown me for a loop, and that is one of the many reasons why I loved it!
Here are some other reasons; intriguing plot, brilliant writing, heart-stopping twists, and an ending I didn’t see coming. For the first time since Gone Girl was released, a book has in my opinion, earned a worthy comparison. How many times have we heard that about this thriller or that, and it’s NEVER true! So far I haven’t seen an instance where Dear Wife is compared to it, but it genuinely can be! That said, it is very much its own story, uniquely crafted to keep you glued to its pages.
Honestly, I don’t really have anything negative to say. It is FANTASTIC full stop!
So, If you’re putting your Summer reading list together, this one better be at the top!
