Throwback Review
Good morning guys! How about some epic “end of the world” reading to start your weekend early?
It’s been a while since I’ve read some really good dystopian. I kind of got tired of the genre for a little bit there, because there is just so much of it, and it all tends to be the same thing. Mysterious virus starts killing people, dead people come back with a taste for flesh, blah blah blah. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some zombie action. It’s one of my favourite genres, but it just got so old.
Recently, I came across this series, and thought I would give it a try. The reviews are very good, and though this author is new to me, she has loads of books under her belt. I had high hopes that this series would offer something different, and by the end of the first few chapters of book #1, I was hooked!
The Upheaval (Release Date: November 12th, 2013)
The First tremors of the earth were felt at 7:22 EST. Every single person felt the rumbling and experienced the tremors that would forever alter the course of history. Most did not survive. These are the accounts of some of those who did.
*** Due to language and graphic content this book is recommended for readers 17 and older.***

My Thoughts…
Loved it!
There are so many things about this book that really made it stand out for me. I loved the concurrent storylines, and how the characters happen upon each other by chance, coming together, only to be torn apart again.
Another element that was appealing to me was that, the reader has no idea what is causing the “upheaval”. Like the characters, we are just as clueless and while that may annoy some, it added to the suspense and made for a much more nail biting experience.
Great writing, fantastic characters, and sooooo much action, makes this a must read for fans of this genre! I was riveted from start to finish and as I mentioned, I could not stop at one. I had to read the whole series.
Rating… A+
Just added to my TBR! You know I can’t resist a good end of days book. 🙂 Also, I’m glad this book doesn’t have a grillion reviews already. I’ve been on an indie kick lately, and I’m hooked!
