A little predictable, but a very cute story with likeable characters!

I’m doing quite a few ARC reviews these days (trying to be responsible with my Netgalley choices) and I’m reading some really great stuff! This one was a light, fun read and I loved “Alexa” and “Drew”!

The Wedding Date (Expected Release Date: January 30, 2018)

Agreeing to go to a wedding with a guy she gets stuck with in an elevator is something Alexa Monroe wouldn’t normally do. But there’s something about Drew Nichols that’s too hard to resist.

On the eve of his ex’s wedding festivities, Drew is minus a plus one. Until a power outage strands him with the perfect candidate for a fake girlfriend…

After Alexa and Drew have more fun than they ever thought possible, Drew has to fly back to Los Angeles and his job as a pediatric surgeon, and Alexa heads home to Berkeley, where she’s the mayor’s chief of staff. Too bad they can’t stop thinking about the other…

They’re just two high-powered professionals on a collision course toward the long distance dating disaster of the century–or closing the gap between what they think they need and what they truly want…

My Thoughts…

A charming, well-written debut with endearing and funny characters!

If you need a bit of cheering up or want to read something light and fun after a long day, this is the perfect book.

As I mentioned, it is predictable but most books in this genre are. I mean, if the lovers didn’t end up together as you expect them too then it wouldn’t be much of a romance would it? What is great about this story are the characters. Predictably, they are attractive, successful people but they are also really amazing together. The chemistry is wonderful between “Alexa” and “Drew” and their story is highly entertaining. I even got a little teary at the end.

Great writing, especially the dialogue and overall, an enjoyable heart-warming read. Oh  and not too sugary. I hate mushy, saccharine romance and this one hit the mark perfectly!

Rating… B
